Accountancy Recruit is partnering a client in Middlewich to appoint a Management Accountant. The role would suit a Financial Accountant, Company Accountant or Finance Manager and will have responsibility for P&L management, analysis and reporting (sales, cost of sales, discounts) and balance sheet reconciliations. We are looking for a Management Accountant keen to identify and implement improvements to procedures and controls, as well as taking responsibility for ad-hoc projects as required.
The Management Accountant will have the following responsibilities:

• Line management of two Accounts Assistants.
• Overseeing the P&L month end process.
• Crucial interface between the UK Finance team and the Controlling team in European head office.
• Overseeing Sales Ledger and Accounts Receivable.
• Debit note management.
• Working alongside the Financial Accountant to provide cover when needed.
• Preparing and posting monthly accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries.
• Leading the analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and presenting findings to the board.
• Continually identifying risks to delivery, propose solutions where necessary and effectively manage stakeholder expectations throughout.
• Managing the AP ledger.
• Managing the Credit Control function, including processing debit notes and associated returns.
• Business partner other departments as required, ie warehouse to deal with stock queries.
• Supporting the FD and deputising when required.

To be successful in this role the Management Accountant will have the following experience:

• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Advanced Excel and modelling.
• Commercial mindset.
• Ability to delegate and manage the work of others.
• Experience of AP and AR.
• Experience participating in the annual audit, liaising directly with the external audit team.
• Detailed knowledge of JDE/Oracle would be beneficial
