Accountancy Recruit is partnering a non profit in Cheshire to appoint an interim Senior Finance Manager.  This is a fixed term contract for 3 months initially, we can also consider day rate candidates, the role will be inside IR35.  The position would also suit a Financial Controller, Senior Management Accountant or Company Accountant. The Interim Senior Finance Manager will lead on the efficient delivery of financial processing and reporting. They will produce the information required for the statutory accounts at year-end and work closely with budget holders to provide insight on financial performance.
The Senior Finance Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end close.
  • Prepare annual statutory accounting, including ensuring all stakeholders are provided regular, up to date analytical financial information as well as analysis of trends and forecasts.
  • Attend monthly budget versus actual review meetings with each budget holder and supporting budget holders in the preparation and monitoring of their budgets and income projections.
  • Responsibility for assurance, oversight and management of financial systems and ensure that procedures and deadlines are adhered to.
  • Review monthly reconciliations of income and expenditure, balance sheet accounts.
  • Producing financial reports on events, expenditure analysis, and analysis of management accounts are prepared for all stakeholders.
  • Ensure oversight and management of Gift Aid and VAT meeting HMRC requirements and monthly claims.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and regulator requirements are met for events and activities.
  • Manage and develop the finance staff to ensure the effective running of the team in providing its organizational support function.
  • Ensure oversight, assurance of the quality, accuracy of data and financial records.
  • Ensure oversight and assurance over the accuracy of suppliers and payments.
  • Ensure the accuracy of fixed assets, accruals, repayments, debtors and creditors. Review AMS to prepare reports identifying which volunteers, staff and suppliers require payments.
  • Ensure oversight and assurance reconciliation of various Bank Accounts as assigned.
  • Preparation of VAT Returns for submission to HMRC.
  • Contribute to system & process improvements.

To be successful in this role the Senior Finance Manager will have the following experience:

  • Qualified Accountant in a Finance discipline with an Accounting Qualification (AAT; ACCA; CIMA) or Qualified by Experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a relevant role as a Finance Team Manager.
  • MS Office Suite; Accounts Systems (NAV, ERP systems)
  • Excellent attention to details.
  • Strong communication skills.

The salary advertised for this role is a guideline and the salary offered will be commensurate with experience.
