Accountancy Recruit is partnering a non profit organisation based in central Manchester to appoint a Senior Financial Accountant for a fixed term contract. The contract will be at least 4 months, possibly longer, and with the potential for it to convert to a permanent position and progress to Financial Controller for the right candidate.  The role would suit a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Management Accountant happy to work in a hands on capacity for a non profit. Reporting in to the Finance Director and working alongside a finance team of four colleagues, the Senior Financial Accountant will have the following responsibilities:

• Review the work of the Finance Officer ensuring that all transactions have been processed accurately.
• Production of monthly accounts/financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Providing regular financial reports to the FD for final review and presentation to the senior leadership team and other stakeholders.
• Preparation of VAT return.
• Support the FD with any analysis of actual performance against budget.
• Ensure all reconciliations are completed in a timely manner and resolve any discrepancies.

To be successful in this role the Senior Financial Accountant will have the following experience:

• Experience in a similar role, qualified finance professional or qualified by experience.
• Track record of producing accurate financial statements and working to deadlines.
• Experience within the non profit sector preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Advanced Excel experience.

The salary advertised for this role is a guideline and the salary offered will be commensurate with experience.
