Accountancy Recruit have another Financial Controller Vacancy for a Warrington based client which is being handled by our North West team

Accountancy Recruit is partnering with a Warrington based company to appoint a Head of Finance for a Finance Shared Service Centre. As Head of Finance for the SSC you would be required to oversee the accounting and transactional functions to ensure excellent service delivery to the group. The Head of Finance SSC will drive continuous improvement to processes, procedures across R2R, OTC and P2P. The role will interact with the Group Financial Controller to ensure that transactional and management reporting align with statutory and accounting standards.

The Head of Finance will be responsible for the following:

  • Identify business requirements and develop the shared service centre to improve processes, procedures and standards to drive efficiency and ensure delivery of a quality service.
  • Mentor and train the team consisting of managers, qualified accountants, part qualified accountants and clerks to ensure the provision of excellent customer support through a period of transformation.
  • Drive the implementation of standard processes and tools.
  • Develop accounting and reporting routines to ensure compliance with internal controls and work closely the Group Financial Control and Reporting team.
  • Implement target setting and KPIs to monitor performance.
  • Manage closing at month-end.
  • Support projects to improve and standardise processes across the shared service centre.
  • Support the Senior Leadership Team within finance to drive and manage change across the finance function, identifying training and development needs of team members.
  • Provide strong leadership and motivating the team to consistently deliver an excellent service and maximise output.

In order to successful in this role the Head of Finance will have the following experience:

  • Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 7 years PQE.
  • Previous experience of managing teams within a centralised finance function.
  • Experience of preparing and reviewing statutory accounts.
  • Experience of preparing and reviewing corporation tax and VAT.
  • Strong track record of driving continuous improvement of controls and processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to articulate complex financial information in simple terms.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Solid experience in a leadership role.
