Accountancy Recruit is partnering a client in central Manchester to recruit a Group Financial Controller.  This is an excellent progression opportunity with a growing business.  The role would suit a Finance Manager or Financial Controller keen to join the growth journey reporting in to the CFO but with autonomy to run the finance department and career progression.  The Group FC will have the following responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day to day financial operations and management of the finance team.
  • Manage two direct reports with a wider team beneath.
  • Production of weekly flash reporting and monthly management information including Board reporting pack, working to tight reporting deadlines.
  • Consolidation of group results.
  • Responsible for forecasting & budgeting.
  • Provide recommendations for more efficient processes and systems taking advantage of automation and creating a robust finance function to support business growth.
  • KPI analysis and provision of commercial insight with recommendations for improved profitability.
  • Oversee taxation compliance and planning.
  • Support implementation of improved forecasting and more KPI driven model.
  • Delivering year-end accounts and management of audit process.
  • Payroll and sales commission calculations.
  • Implement cost improvement initiatives.

To be successful in this role the Group Financial Controller will have the following experience:

  • Qualified accountant. Minimum six years post qualification experience. Ideally experience in industry but also considering candidates with an Audit background and at least one role at FC level in industry.
  • Experience within management consultancy, professional services or technology sectors preferred
  • Experience within a business experiencing rapid international growth.
  • Ability and experience of operating in a hands on capacity with strong technical skills but also some strategic experience.
  • Ability to understand the business drivers and have a holistic view of how the business operates.
  • Experience of Sage and Sage Payroll beneficial.
  • Expert Excel

The salary advertised for this role is a guideline, the salary offered will be commensurate with experience.
